Wind Bridge
Arenal, Alajuela, Costa Rica 2007
This project was proposed as a connector between two tourist developments located on the slopes of the Arenal Volcano. With more than 1 km in length and sections with a height greater than 30 meters, its route changes between the canopy of the forest and the heart of it, providing a different experience.
Its name, Wind Bridge, responds to the fact that its structure is made up of large steel columns that support wind turbines that produce enough electricity to power the two interconnected hotels. In several sections of the route the bridge disappears into the mist and on other occasions it floats above the trees.
This project is part of the green image that represents the spirit of the area, Arenal has become one of the most visited tourist destinations precisely because of the experience that it offers tourists of that connection with nature.
